I specialize in Applied Kinesiology (AK) and Clinical Kinesiology (CK).  Both of these techniques address the three basic systems of the body:  the structural system, the chemical system, and the electromagnetic system.

The structural system includes bones, muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia, and organs.  The chemical system includes vitamins, minerals, enzymes, metabolism, and allergies.  The electromagnetic system includes thoughts, emotions, acupuncture meridians, chakras, and the aura.

Using AK and CK techniques, I gently test a person's muscles to obtain information about their body stresses, adaptations, and overall health.

Overall health is compromised by overall stress (which includes structural, chemical, and electromagnetic stresses combined).  Kinesiology techniques help to decrease overall stress.  By decreasing overall stress, injuries and illness can be greatly reduced.  If a person does become injured or sick, they can heal much faster.

Craniosacral Therapy is an extremely gentle hands-on technique.  This technique helps to balance the cranial-sacral system (the brain, the spinal cord, and the bones, membranes, and fluid surrounding the brain and spinal cord).  Stress, strain, and injury often alter the cranial-sacral system; this causes tension that can affect the entire body.  CST uses specifically directed light touch to help rebalance the cranial-sacral system.  "Cranial" refers to the portion of the skull enclosing the brain. "Sacral" refers to the bone just above the tailbone.
Craniosacral Therapy helps to relieve:
  • Migraines
  • Chronic Headaches
  • TMJ
  • Neck Pain
  • Back Pain
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Fatigue
  • Stress
I utilize several cranial techniques in addition to Craniosacral Therapy.  All of these techniques are very gentle and help to balance the twenty-two bones of the skull.

Myofascial Release is a highly effective hands-on technique that provides sustained pressure into myofascial restrictions (restrictions between muscle and fascia).  Releasing these restrictions helps to eliminate pain, restore function, and allow proper motion.
"Myo" refers to muscle and "fascial" refers to fascia.  The fascia is a specialized system of translucent membrane that exists throughout the body.  It covers every muscle, organ, and nerve down to the cellular level.  Releasing fascial restrictions helps to release tension throughout the body.
Myofascial Release helps to relieve:
  • Chronic Pain
  • Poor Posture
  • Chronic Fatigue
  • Fibromyalgia

I utilize a variety of adjustment techniques which range from firm to very light depending upon individual need.  These techniques include Diversified, Activator, Upper Cervical, Motion Palpation, Extremity Adjusting, Visceral (Organ) Manipulation, and Non-force Cranial Adjusting.

Chiropractic adjustments help to balance a person's bones and everything attaching into the bones.  Muscles, tendons, ligaments, and fascia all attach into bone. (These soft structures cannot function properly if the bones they anchor into are out of alignment.)

Nerves are also affected by bones.  Nerves exit from between each of the spinal bones (vertebrae).  Aligning the vertebrae helps to restore proper function to the nerves and to the body parts affected by these nerves.

Chiropractic adjustments help to relieve:
  • Neck Pain
  • Back Pain
  • TMJ
  • Headaches
  • Joint Problems (throughout the body)

Visceral Manipulation is a gentle hands-on technique that addresses the organs of the body.  This includes the heart, lungs, liver, gall bladder, stomach, intestines, kidneys, bladder, uterus, and ovaries.  If the organs do not move freely, they can not function properly.  Sometimes organs become "sluggish" as a result of improper diet, improper posture, or improper body movement.  By gently mobilizing an organ, I can help to restore that organ's health, vitality, and function.
Visceral Manipulation helps to relieve:
  • Digestive Disturbances
  • Respiratory Disturbances
  • Woman's Health Issues

Reiki is a gentle energy balancing technique; it is not a spiritual belief system or religion.  During a treatment session, energy flows thru a Reiki practitioner's hands.  This energy assists the receiving person's natural flow of energy, and can  accelerate the healing process for most types of trauma.

I am a certified Reiki Master.  I find Reiki to be a powerful addition to other forms of healing, and I incorporate Reiki into many of my treatments.

Somato Emotional Release is a gentle body centered technique that addresses the release of stored emotional energy.  Sometimes, blocked or held emotions get stored in the body (preventing it from functioning properly).  By gently mobilizing specific parts of the body, I can help a person to release these emotional energies.

This approach to treating an athlete helps to resolve potential problems before the problems become symptomatic.  I focus on aligning muscles, bones, and joints so that problems do not occur.  The result of this preventative approach is improved speed, timing, endurance, and coordination.

I have successfully utilized this same approach with athletes, dancers, and musicians from amateur status to professional.
